Competitive Gaming Hit the Big Time

While competitive gaming has been going on for years there has never been a pot so laden with gold at the end of the arduous road the winners will walk. Paved with the bodies of their fallen adversaries, the road will now lead to a chest filled with a cold hard million.

On December 18-22 the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) will be hosting a Halo 3 tournament in Dallas Texas, working with X Factor Tournament to organize the event.
"The winner of the $1,000,000 “Halo 3” Xbox 360 competition will receive a $250,000 instant cash payout at the CPL Winter event. Other prizes will be paid to at least 64 places. The competition is open to gamers worldwide and does not require pre-qualification or previous tournament experience."
Online registration begins today, you can enlist here, on the CPL website.

For those who thought that professional gaming couldn't be done they should check their bank accounts and see if they can claim to have pulled in $250k in one weekend's worth of time.
