My job once again calls for me to be whisked away to the magical land of Cali, I'll be back with full updates and all that jazz on Thursday.

So in my absence enjoy this picture of zerging Koreans.

8 year old GH2 messiah

I don't know about you, but this kid totally puts me to shame when it comes to hand eye coordination, and I've been an avid gamer for over 20 years. So my hat off to you kid, may your freakishly quick fingers make you a hit with the ladies.

Trusty Bell, a real RPG for the 360?

As its launch comes closer and closer more information is leaked about the game Trust Bell (Eternal Sonata for those in Japan).

With this new trailer (sadly no English subtitles) we get a good view of the playable screens, and the sexiness that is the art style. Hopefully the art will not outweigh the gameplay and story like in so many RPG's made nowadays.

The game is currently slated to be out later this year in the states and I'd venture to guess that most RPG loving 360 owners will be waiting with bells on. Zing!

Odin Sphere, 2D action meets fairytale

Thanks to the top article over at Penny Arcade I gained wind of this new Atlus title coming out next month entitled "Odin Sphere". The game is a beautifully drawn 2D side scroller with 5 playable characters through a fanciful yet grim world.

One of the playables is a bunny! Come on. How fantastic is that? Plus, the game is made by Atlus so we can anticipate a lengthy and engrossing story. As a side note to this, I recently picked up Yggdra Union for the GBA and I highly recommend it for anyone who love turn-based strategy games.

idolmaster sex toys

Well, more correctly stated, idolm@ster inspired sex toys, as they are not officially licensed. But wow is this troublesome.

The character likenesses seen to the right are none other than Yayoi Takatsuki (left) and Ami Futami (possibly Mami, they are twins).

It gets worse however when you read the sides of the box. Yayoi's says, "The soft hole of a young, pulsating girl." Ami's says, "Freshly-picked. Beautiful, young idol."

Yayoi's is obviously worse, but damn, fairly graphic box descriptions much?

I know it's very common for people to bridge the gap between popular things and sex, but possibly, just possibly they could evade tying 12-14 year old girls to it? Maybe? Possibly? Yeah I know I'm preaching to the devil, but hey, he listens sometimes. Though usually only after I pass him some 4chan /s/ images.

Hacker brings DirectX 10 to WinXP

With the release of Windows Vista, Microsoft is attempting to make the newest version of DirectX 10 proprietary to that operating system alone, forcing people to upgrade if they want the newest DirectX libraries.

Well this is where an enterprising young hacker (Cody Brocious, 19) has decided heck no! Currently he claims to have found the missing link and bridged the software to run on Windows XP machines and a pre-release of his work is available on his blog site.

The catch here? He requires that you download and install 7 *.dll files into your Windows System32 folder. Hehehe, tricky bastard.

I'll post the link, install this at your own risk.

Fate Stay Night hits the big time

For those that don't know, Fate Stay Night is a largely successful franchise in Japan, with PC games, PS2 games, an anime and a manga. But now it has truly hit the big time as seen by it now has a live action cosplaying porno based on it.

Heh.

The video below only covers some slight girl on girl kissing and 2 seconds of heavy petting, but it shows what all the characters look like. I love when people try to have plot and action scenes in skin flicks, it's funny. Two thumbs up for the guy playing Archer.

Americans fall behind science belief

You know how the US is supposed to be an enlightened nation, one with people who understand science, and the way things are? A nation built around education and a separation of church and state. Well apparently those lines are fuzzier than ever thanks to a poll done by National Geographic in which the US scores quantitatively poorer in accepting evolution then other Western countries.

Out of over 30 polled countries only one had less trust in the theory of evolution and that was Turkey. You know, the country that had wide spread bird flu because they walk through feces. (note: Turkey is actually a really nice place assuming you evade stepping in chicken droppings)

Countries of note that scored above us, I'll hit the good ones, Romania (historically full of superstitious gypsies), Bulgaria (see: Romania), and Croatia.

How can we as a civilized nation believe in things like Creationism and Scientology (the name is dangerously misleading) more then tried and true science theory. Heck, I'd accept another rational argument, a scientific theory other than evolution over the invisible man and science fiction.

I guess it's time to move to Sweden, they believe in piracy, partying, and evolution.

Man robs lingerie store dressed as female elf rogue

Yes, that topic wasn't a typo, it happened.

A 45 year old man donned a blonde wig and, while brandishing a knife, robbed a lingerie store because after playing Shadowrun the line between reality and fantasy became blurred.

See, I don't buy it. You put on a wig, you are obviously not your computer elf. The worst part of this story is that while convicted, he's going under mental health examinations. I'm tired of crazy people evading jail time by simply being crazy. All people should be accountable for their actions. People would keep better track of the crazies if jail time and burly men named Gus were at the end of their bloody and crime-laden rampages instead of cushy walls and therapists.

Sony "revising strategy for the PS3"

In a recent interview with Sony President Ryoji Chubachi he says,
"We are re-examining our [PS3] budgeting process in terms of pricing and volume. Sales assumptions change and the market is competitive. We are in the midst of revisiting our strategy for the PS3."
You know, just in case everyone else in the world hadn't figured it out yet. The system costs too much, stores can't sell them, people do purchase the systems of your competitors (which are both at a cheaper price), and Sony continues to hemorrhage money.

Though nothing is set in stone, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a forthcoming PS3 price cut, possibly bringing it down to the level of the XBOX360, as it's only a slight jump, but a significant one regardless.

SNK Dating Sim DS!

Yes, it's finally happened, you can now play a dating sim where you can hit on your favorite SNK women.

Not only that, but you can do it on the go! SNK Playmore has recently released their character dating sim called Days of Memories.

Seems to be your average dating sim, no frills or anything, except for the fact that you are putting the moves on Samurai Showdown ladies.

Large List of free MMO's

For those out there without 15 bucks to shell out monthly to get your internet MMO fix, here's a rather large list of the possible options. This list does not include MUDs of course as the list would be hundreds to thousands times larger (and most people need graphics).

Out of the ones listed here I highly recommend Rappelz, I recently started playing it and it's a pretty sweet game in the vain of Lineage 2.

New Gradius-style game on Expert

If only the American arcade wasn't dead, maybe we would see games like Otomedius here in the States.

Now ignoring the fact that the game takes fast-paced shooter action and adds anime boobs, they game itself still looks awesome, even if you're not a 14 year old boy. We need more creative shooters, there's only so many times I can beat Gradius.

Self Referential and 4th Wall Destroying Video Games FTW

I love when video games reference themselves or the real world within the game, it's just fun. Very Shakespearean in its inception.

Between referencing classic Nintendo errors to obligatory Windows references Super Paper Mario does a fantastic job of building up a beautiful world and then tearing it down, reminding the player that they are actually playing a video game, and they are probably sitting on their couch.

Check out the rest of these images.

Dragon Quest Swords Japan release date

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors now has a release date in Japan, June 12th. It was originally intended to be a launch title for the Wii but was delayed.

This is the game that makes the player swing a sword and shield as controllers, which seems like a fantastic amount of fun.

No word yet on any release dates outside of Japan, though hopefully it will hit American shores sometime this year.

Learn Kanji the Nintendo way

I've gone to school, I've been taught many lessons. Never did it involve a gaming system. But hey, who am I to judge. My kanji knowledge has atrophied quite a bit over the years, maybe I'll pick this gem up to once again have kanji skills rivaling a 6 year old.

Mario 64... 8 bit

So someone with way more free time than should be allowed legally has gone into the Mario 64 game and texture swapped everything to match the textures seen in the old school NES Mario games.

While quite disturbing it's actually very well done and I'm quite impressed.

I lose more faith in humanity

A woman is attempting to sell herself (as a one night stand) for 5000 world of warcraft gold. Humanity is utterly failing at this juncture, I don't really know what all to say here.

So check out this tag line:
"Hello I need 5000 world of warcraft gold for my flying epic mount. In return you can mount me."
Good lord. I also like the fact that she points out that women, groups, and anal are all cool with her. You know, just in case you didn't realize the severity of her whore-ness.

Idolm@ster meets mecha

Damn I love Japan. Recently a new anime series launched there entitled Idolm@ster: Xenoglossia. The series combines teen J-Pop singers with large stompy mecha. Better yet, the teen idols are in fact the mecha pilots!

Way to deliver a well timed chi hit to the otaku.

Update: Doki Doki Majo Saiban

Well the time has been long approaching, and now it's release is almost upon us, well, the Japanese release that is.

Doki Doki Majo Saiban, a game involving touching possible witches to determine whether or not they are in fact witches is close to shelves in Japan as is evident by SNK getting a website up and running for the title.

Funny thing, apparently the content is not rated as acceptable for all audiences, and for those who may be deterred by animated witch touching (and subsequently those who would select 'no' on the website) they will be directed to the SNK home page as opposed to a site with frivolous images of innocent girls *ahem* possible witches who need to be searched for the safety of our nation.

No word if this game will ever reach the states but I'm guessing it's highly unlikely.

PS3 Banned from Prison

There's a whole article to read about this topic and why it happened but I can't seem to get past this one glaring question.

Why did people in prison have a PS3 anyways? They are being punished. Having a paid gaming excursion isn't the intended purpose of incarceration.
